CD released Aug 2007 by States Rights Records,
sort of the sequel to sun shifts, 70 minutes done in one sitting, this time split up into vague track markers that flow into each other. starts with deep ash-ra vibed echo-guitar guitar tryps and then moves on to a positive spring/summer mantra of chanting voices, guitar strums, tabla grooves, phaser fuzz guitar, deep drones and stuff. The best representation of current White Rainbow live sets.
sun shifts CD

one 65 minute track called "sun shifts" recorded in one sitting with guitar, trumpet, voice, bells, gong, bamboo thumb piano, and other weird stuff lying about going through my standard effect and loop pedal chain. sitting there surrounded by that stuff but mostly staring out at the sky and across the train tracks and river over to downtown Portland and the west hills behind - all that through the row of big, old, western-facing windows in our warehouse studio. watching the sun set and the sky turn an infinite and ever changing combination of colors in slow gradations as the day turned to evening dusk.
first i did a 30-ish minute live stereo take, then an overdub that ran an additional 30+ minutes after that first take ended, then an overdub over that last 30 minutes or so.

a collection of recordings from 2000 thru 2005. some stuff previously released as very limited run CDRs on yarnlazer in 2004 as white rainbow ambient music series volumes 1 -3. other stuff included 1) a never released long form remix of source given to me by Dave Longstreth of the Dirty Projectors of a woman he recorded singing a whole bunch of different notes. this he gave me for a never-completed collaborative album that was going to be called Dirty Rainbow. other stuff ended up on his 'New Attitude' EP on Marriage a bit later 2) a long-form remix of a song by Tussle that was going to be for a remix record of theirs that i don't think ever came out... 3) a bunch of recordings exclusive to this release
also included is a DVD with an exclusive 30 minute e*rock white rainbow video piece, two alex hubbard videos, a very crunk white rainbow self made video, and footage from a live performance and the full spectrum installation taken by steve schroeder and honey owens, respectively
edition of 500 (copies still may be available out there somewhere)
